Technical Business Analyst (SQL & Software Development)

About the Role: An exciting opportunity is available for a Technical Business Analyst with strong SQL skills and a background in software development. You will play a key part in analysing business processes, managing data through SQL, collaborating with developers, and ensuring the successful implementation of technology-driven projects. Key Responsibilities: Business & Process Analysis: Gather and document business requirements through interviews, workshops, and process mapping Translate requirements into clear functional and technical specifications Analyse business processes to identify areas of improvement SQL & Data Management: Write, optimize, and execute complex SQL queries for data extraction and reporting Ensure data integrity and support performance tuning Contribute to database design and ETL processes Technical Collaboration: Serve as the bridge between business and development teams Review software functionalities, propose enhancements, and support system design Document APIs, data structures, and architectural components Testing & Implementation: Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Identify and resolve system issues Provide end-user training and maintain detailed documentation Project & Stakeholder Management: Manage project timelines and collaborate with cross-functional teams Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders Produce structured documentation for processes, specs, and systems Qualifications & Experience: IT Degree/Diploma or equivalent Minimum 4 years experience in business analysis At least 2 years of SQL experience (queries, procedures, optimization) Prior hands-on experience in software development or database administration Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Skills & Competencies: Proficiency in SQL and relational databases Familiarity with development tools (e.g., C# or similar languages) Understanding of APIs, data modelling, and systems integration Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities Excellent analytical and documentation skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively
