Head of Asset Management - Energy Storage as a Service Varese - 5 giorni fa Energy Dome is the owner and developer of CO2 Battery technology, a ground-breaking innovation that uses carbon dioxide in a closed-loop thermodynamic process to provide efficient, affordable long-duration energy storage (LDES) for intermittent renewables—key to enabling decarbonization of the global power system. The CO2 Battery is proven in operation at Energy Dome’s MW-scale demonstration project in Sardinia, Italy. The company is expanding rapidly with full-scale (20MW/200MWh) commercial projects under construction or awarded in Italy, the US, and India, with a robust pipeline across the USA, EU, UK, Australia, Chile, and other key markets. This standardized, modular product uses off-the-shelf industrial components, allowing rapid scale-up and adoption in global markets. Energy Dome offers the CO2 Battery both as a technology supplier (OEM) and under an "energy storage-as-a-service" or Build-Own-Operate (BOO) model. The BOO business is growing significantly, with projects operational, in development, or under contract, catering to customers preferring long-term capacity offtake agreements rather than ownership. We are now seeking a: Head of Asset Management (Energy Storage as a Service) to maximize the value of operational CO2 Battery assets, ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance. The role involves leading technical, commercial, operational, and financial efforts, building the Asset Management team, including Project Asset Managers, Operations & Maintenance, and Contract Managers, to optimize operational efficiency and revenue. Given the company's rapid growth, significant career development opportunities are anticipated. Role Location: Regular travel (>30%) including HQ (Milan) and project sites Reports to: COO, Energy Storage as a Service Interacts with: Internal: Engineering, Sales External: Customers, Contractors, Suppliers, authorities Focus Areas: Availability: Develop strategies to ensure long-term performance, safety, and profitability, focusing on reliability. Stakeholder Management: Manage interfaces with internal teams, external partners, and service providers. Asset Readiness: Define and execute Operations & Maintenance procedures, ensuring high operational control. Operational Excellence: Minimize handover friction, meet operational and commercial goals. Performance Accountability: Drive asset performance balancing safety, reliability, and efficiency. HR Coordination: Manage Plant Directors at Italian and international sites. Key Responsibilities: Establish and develop the Asset Management function starting with Italy's first operational asset and expanding globally. Coordinate with internal teams to maximize operational efficiency and revenue across projects. Ensure asset availability, oversee O&M strategies, budgets, outage schedules, and respond to outages. Work with engineering teams to troubleshoot operational issues. Implement asset reporting frameworks and KPIs. Optimize asset performance to meet contractual and profitability goals. Manage budgets, third-party contracts, and financial reporting. Support procurement, inventory management, warranty claims, and process improvements. Build relationships with third-party Asset Management and O&M providers. Enhance incident response, safety procedures, and maintenance planning. Standardize SOPs, ensure regulatory compliance, and support project development phases. Qualifications: At least 10 years of relevant asset management experience in the energy sector, including thermal power, energy storage, hydro, renewables, or oil & gas. Operational expertise in Contracts, O&M, Asset Software, Engineering. Leadership experience managing teams and budgets. Experience with innovative technologies and problem-solving in engineering contexts. Knowledge of power purchase agreements, tax equity, and contract negotiations. Stakeholder engagement with transmission operators and utility entities. Strong negotiation, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to develop processes and procedures for best practices. Languages: Proficiency in English; Italian and/or Spanish are advantageous. Interpersonal Skills: Team player, autonomous worker, stakeholder influencer, entrepreneurial mindset.
