MISSION Reporting directly to the BU Commodity Leader, the Procurement Specialist is responsible for planning, selecting, and purchasing required products, as well as negotiating contracts with major suppliers. This role supports the BU Commodity Leader in achieving targets related to competitiveness, time to market, new project development, and supply base growth and rationalization. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure sourcing of new components within the assigned perimeter. Control and supervise the pricing of materials and components from suppliers. Collaborate on the development of the supplier list and analyze markets (national and international) to find more favorable supply opportunities. Support the definition of global commodity strategies to optimize the supply base in terms of quality, efficiency, and technological advancement. Manage the assigned perimeter by gaining a deep understanding of the supply market and fostering innovation inputs from suppliers to promote within the organization. Support strategic supplier partnerships and ensure procurement-related risks are controlled and mitigated. Manage relationships within a multi-functional team, including supplier quality and local procurement specialists, and communicate with sales and production managers regarding their requirements. Assist SCM and Procurement in ensuring the stable supply of required materials and communicate potential supplier issues that could threaten production continuity. Develop the supply base in terms of operational KPIs such as OTD and service level to production plants. Manage the assigned budget. Build and monitor the implementation of purchasing strategies. REQUIRED SKILLS Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering is preferred. Experience in a similar procurement role. Knowledge of casting parts.
