Automation Technician

Collaborate with engineering teams to design and develop automation systems tailored to client specifications Install, configure, and integrate PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and other control components Develop and modify PLC programs (e.g., Siemens, Allen Bradley) to optimize system performance Conduct thorough testing and commissioning of automation systems to ensure functionality and compliance with standards Provide ongoing maintenance and technical support for installed systems, including troubleshooting and resolving issues promptly Maintain accurate records of system configurations, modifications, and maintenance activities Work directly with clients to understand requirements, provide training, and ensure satisfaction with delivered solutions Skills & Experience Minimum of 3 years in automation or industrial control systems Proficient in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen Bradley preferred) Experience with HMI and SCADA systems Able to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Capable of working independently or as part of a project team Knowledge of safety standards, compliance regulations, and system documentation Qualifications BTech or Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechatronic Engineering, or a certified Electrician Trade Test Valid drivers license Valid passport (required for travel across South Africa and the SADC region) Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
