Backend Developer – Digital Payments (Remote)

Brain Technologies is searching for: Backend Developer – Digital Payments (Remote) We are looking for a skilled and motivated Backend Developer to join our team working on mission-critical systems in the digital payments domain. This is a fully remote position ideal for professionals who are passionate about robust server-side applications, containerized environments, and secure, scalable infrastructures. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain backend services for digital payment platforms Implement and manage containerized applications using Docker Ensure high availability and performance of applications on Linux servers Collaborate with DevOps and Security teams to ensure compliance and scalability Maintain and extend legacy components written in PERL Write clean, modular, well-documented code primarily in Node.js and optionally in PERL Troubleshoot production issues and support system operations in a live environment Place: Full Remote Requirements: Proven experience in backend development for high-availability systems Strong knowledge of Docker and container orchestration best practices Proficiency in managing and debugging Linux-based servers Solid experience with Node.js Familiarity or working experience with PERL (a strong plus) Experience with RESTful APIs, logging frameworks, and automated testing Basic knowledge of security and compliance requirements in digital payments (PCI-DSS is a plus) Fluency in Italian (minimum level C1) What we offer: An employment contract commensurate with your profile Responsibility and growth opportunities Flexible and dynamic environment Flat organizational structure International environment Welfare benefits Health insurance Brain Technologies is an Italian engineering company founded in Turin in 2008.
