Bookmark this Posting | Print Preview | Apply for this Job Position Details Position Title : Director of Grants and Scholarship Development Position Number : 8101137 Job Category : University Staff Job Type : Full-Time FLSA Status : Exempt Campus : Chicago-Water Tower Campus Department : SCHOOL OF SOCIAL WORK Location Code : SCHOOL OF SOCIAL WORK (02800A) Duties and Responsibilities This position reports directly to the Associate Dean for Research (ADR) and involves engaging the school, faculty, and doctoral students in strategic research advancement, communication of research and opportunities, and promoting collaboration and proposal support functions to enhance research and scholarship. Responsibilities include mentoring faculty and students in proposal development, promoting external funding growth, overseeing pre-award processes, developing proposal narratives and budgets, reviewing contracts, and serving as a liaison with university offices and external agencies. Develop and monitor workplans for funding during each academic year based on individual research agendas. Oversee the pre-award process, including funding opportunity identification and dissemination. Create and review proposal documents for compliance and quality. Manage contracts, awards, and sub-contracts. Collaborate with university offices and external agencies for grants administration and development. Provide policy consultation and support for sponsored projects. Maintain records and reports related to grants activities. Guide faculty and students in fellowship applications and grant opportunities. Mentor doctoral students and supervise research assistants. Lead initiatives to enhance sponsored project activities and promote a culture of integrity and excellence. Minimum Education and Work Experience Master’s degree in social or health sciences. At least 3 years of experience in advancement or sponsored programs in higher education. Administrative experience working with faculty on fundraising or grants. Preferred Qualifications Doctoral degree in related social or health sciences. Five or more years of relevant experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of funding agencies, proposal development, grants management, and compliance regulations. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and innovatively. Additional Information No supervisory responsibilities or physical demands are noted for this position. The salary range is $75,000 to $82,928 annually. The position opens on 05 / 15 / 2025.
