HGV1 Driver

Working on behalf of an established Transport Company in Mallusk, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver. Essential Criteria: A full UK CE licence Digital tachograph card and driver's CPC qualification card 12 months previous Class 1 driving experience Able to maintain a good standard of driving Clean license preferable, but up to a maximum 6 points is acceptable Able to demonstrate right to work in the UK Good knowledge of drivers hours and WTD regulations Responsibilities: Local destinations No manual labour involved Driving with 40 foot trailers To provide an effective, efficient and flexible service to all suppliers, customers and colleagues through carrying out all functions relating to driving duties, including timely deliveries, accurate administration and adherence to EU Transport Legislation To check and complete all invoices and paperwork on time & in spec To check & report loads / products and vehicles for defects To build excellent customer relationships To communicate effectively with Transport Office Vehicles to be maintained in a roadworthy condition with any defects being reported to the supervisor on a daily basis To adhere to all Health & Safety legislation Ensure route and customer knowledge To adhere to assigned route schedule Flexibility is required for this role Excellent communication skills Ability to work to set deadlines and to self-motivate Ability to work on own initiative Excellent customer service skills Good product knowledge Desirable: 6 months experience in a similar role Schedule: Flexible full time hours available. Monday to Friday or Wednesday to Sunday, either day shifts or later starts of 12noon/1pm. Can be negotiated to suit successful candidate.
