Sr. Manager, Data Engineering

Position Summary: Senior Manager Data Engineering: The Data Engineering sub-family is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and systems that enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. This job family ensures the availability, quality, and accessibility of data to support business objectives and innovation. Lead and manage data engineering teams to ensure efficient data operations and alignment with business objectives. Skills & Experience Required: 7 years of experience in data platforms, cloud infrastructure, or platform engineering. Deep expertise in cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure) and cloud-native technologies (Kubernetes, Terraform, Serverless). Strong background in distributed systems, high-performance computing, and data infrastructure. Hands-on experience with big data frameworks (Apache Spark, Flink, Beam) and modern data lakehouses. Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, Python, Go, Java, or Scala, with expertise in API development and microservices. Experience building and scaling data platforms, pipelines, and real-time streaming architectures. Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines (Github, Jenkins). Expertise in containerization, orchestration, and automation for platform reliability. Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and observability (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry). Strong understanding of data security, compliance, and governance best practices. Experience with identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and data masking techniques. Knowledge of GDPR, CCPAand industry-specific data regulations. Proven ability to architect, optimize, and troubleshoot large-scale distributed systems. Ability to drive innovation, evaluate emerging technologies, and lead proof-of-concepts (PoCs). Excellent system design and scalability expertise, ensuring product resilience. Strong ability to influence and collaborate with business, product, platform, data science, DevOps, and leadership teams. Experience mentoring senior engineers and technical teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
