Position Overview: We are seeking compassionate and responsible Residential Care Officers to support individuals—particularly those with disabilities, age-related needs, or complex care requirements—within a supported living or residential environment. The role centres around promoting independence, enhancing daily living skills, and fostering meaningful engagement in a safe, structured setting. Key Responsibilities: Deliver respectful, hands-on assistance with daily personal care routines, including hygiene, mobility, and grooming tasks. Support clients with household tasks such as meal preparation, light cleaning, and laundry to build life skills and independence. Facilitate client involvement in social outings, recreational events, and community integration activities. Monitor and report on client wellbeing, behaviour, and day-to-day changes, using internal systems and communication channels. Administer prescribed medications in accordance with established care plans and safety protocols. Apply therapeutic and trauma-aware approaches to assist clients with behavioural regulation and emotional wellbeing. Collaborate in the creation and regular review of individualised care strategies, working alongside families and healthcare teams. Respond appropriately to urgent situations, safety risks, and incidents in line with organisational policies. Maintain accurate, confidential records of support provided and client progress. Work cooperatively with a multidisciplinary team including other carers, therapists, and coordinators to ensure comprehensive support. Uphold compliance with all relevant legislative standards including those under the NDIS framework and safeguarding requirements. Participate in a 24/7 roster system, covering day, evening, weekend, and overnight shifts as required. Key Requirements: Certificate III or above in Individual Support, Disability Services, Aged Care, or Community Services. At least 12 months of practical experience in a care-related environment. Demonstrated understanding of person-centred care and the ability to support diverse individuals with dignity and respect. Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, National Police Clearance, and Working With Children Check. Valid First Aid and CPR certification. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team. Desirable: Knowledge of or willingness to adopt Montessori principles in support practices. Experience in residential or group living environments.
