Team Lead - MERN Stack

Job Summary : We are looking for a Team Lead Full Stack Developer (MERN) to lead a high-performing development team in building scalable, modern web applications. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js), strong leadership capabilities, and a passion for clean architecture, DevOps, and mentoring engineers. Key Responsibilities : Team Leadership & Project Ownership : - Lead and mentor a team of full stack developers, ensuring best practices in coding, testing, and deployment. - Manage task allocation, code reviews, and performance evaluations. - Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and QA to ensure timely and high-quality delivery. Full Stack Development : - Architect, design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using the MERN stack. - Build RESTful APIs and work with third-party services and integrations. - Ensure application responsiveness and cross-platform optimization. Best Practices & Quality Assurance : - Enforce code quality through unit testing, integration testing, and code reviews. - Establish and enforce secure coding standards and CI/CD pipelines. Agile & DevOps : - Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and release planning. - Drive automation in deployment and testing processes. Stakeholder Communication : - Provide technical direction and progress updates to stakeholders. - Translate business requirements into technical deliverables. Required Technical Skills : Frontend : - Strong experience with React.js, Redux / Context API, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6) - Experience with component libraries (Material-UI, Ant Design, Bootstrap) Backend : - Expertise in Node.js with Express.js - Knowledge of MVC architecture, middleware, and API security Database : - Proficiency in MongoDB, including schema design, aggregation, indexing - Familiarity with Mongoose ODM Version Control & DevOps : - Proficient in Git, GitHub, GitLab workflows - Knowledge of CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Docker, Kubernetes Testing & QA : - Experience with Jest, Mocha, Chai, Enzyme or React Testing Library - Familiarity with E2E testing tools like Cypress or Puppeteer Others : - API Documentation tools (Swagger, Postman) - Basic knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure - Performance optimization & security best practices Preferred Qualifications : - Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field - 6 years of full-stack development experience, 2 years in a team leadership role - Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Prior experience scaling applications in production environments Nice to Have : - GraphQL experience - Experience with Microservices Architecture - Exposure to Serverless frameworks (AWS Lambda) (ref:hirist.tech)
