Database Administrator - SQL Server

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SQL Tech Lead to join our dynamic and growing team. This leadership role demands deep expertise in database administration, Azure SQL, performance tuning, and disaster recovery. The ideal candidate will have over 12 years of experience, including 68 years of hands-on expertise in SQL database management. You will be responsible for ensuring the performance, security, scalability, and availability of our database infrastructure while mentoring junior team members and driving best Responsibilities : - Manage and maintain Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instances. - Perform and automate backup, restore, and recovery operations with tested strategies. - Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot stored procedures to enhance functionality and performance. - Oversee database cluster setup, configuration, and monitoring of performance and health. - Implement user and role management with Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) to ensure secure access. - Configure and manage Disaster Recovery (DR) and High Availability (HA) solutions with regular testing. - Plan and execute database migrations to cloud or newer environments with minimal downtime. - Optimize performance using indexing, partitioning, and query optimization techniques. - Administer on-premises SQL Servers (2014, 2016, 2022), ensuring security and updates. - Conduct query tuning and performance analysis using execution plans and optimization strategies. - Schedule and manage automated jobs for maintenance and other routine database tasks. - Collaborate with development teams to design high-performance database solutions. - Monitor overall database health and capacity, and provide strategic recommendations. - Lead and mentor junior DBAs to promote continuous improvement and skill development. - Stay updated on industry trends and implement best practices for database and Qualifications Required : - Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field. - 12 years of experience in database administration and management. - 6 - 8 years of relevant experience with SQL databases, especially Azure SQL DB and Managed Instances. - Expertise in backup/recovery procedures, HA/DR solutions, and database migrations. - Proficiency in stored procedures, query optimization, and job scheduling. - Strong experience with RBAC, cluster management, and on-prem SQL Servers (2014, 2016, 2022). - Solid analytical, problem-solving, and communication Skills : - Certification in SQL Server or related technologies. - Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Google Cloud Platform. - Exposure to other database technologies and security best practices.
