Oracle Database Administrator

We're Hiring - Oracle DBA Professionals! . Locations : Bangalore | Hyderabad | Chennai | Pune | Mumbai | Noida. Work Mode : Work from Office. Shift : Night Shift (8:00 PM - 5:00 AM IST). Experience : 5 to 10 Years. We're looking for experienced Oracle Database Administrators (DBAs) to join our growing team! If you're passionate about database performance, security, and reliability - this is the role for you Key Responsibilities : - Perform installation and configuration of Oracle database servers and related components. - Apply necessary patches and upgrades to Oracle databases and related software. - Configure and maintain database parameters and storage structures for optimal performance. - Proactively monitor database performance and identify potential bottlenecks. - Implement performance tuning strategies and techniques to optimize database efficiency. - Analyze AWR/Statspack reports and other performance metrics to identify areas for improvement. - Optimize SQL queries and database schema for enhanced performance. - Design, implement, and maintain robust backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability. - Perform regular database backups and execute recovery procedures as needed. - Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans for database systems. - Manage database user accounts, roles, and privileges in accordance with security policies. - Implement and enforce database security measures to protect sensitive data. - Conduct regular security audits and address any identified vulnerabilities. - Plan, allocate, and manage database storage, including tablespaces and datafiles. - Monitor storage utilization and perform capacity planning. - Implement strategies for efficient storage management and archiving. - Plan and execute database upgrades and migrations to newer Oracle versions. - Perform pre-upgrade assessments and post-upgrade validation. - Troubleshoot any issues encountered during upgrade or migration processes. - Provide timely and effective troubleshooting and resolution of database-related issues. - Analyze root causes of problems and implement preventative measures. - Collaborate with application development and other IT teams to resolve complex issues. - Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. - Generate regular reports on database performance, availability, and security. - Independently manage and monitor database environments during the night shift. - Respond to alerts and address critical issues promptly. - Perform scheduled maintenance activities during off-peak hours. Required Skills and Experience : - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. - Minimum of 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA in a production environment. - Proven expertise in Oracle database installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades. - Strong understanding of Oracle database architecture, concepts, and best practices. - Proficiency in performance monitoring and tuning using tools like AWR, ASH, and SQL Trace. - Solid experience in implementing and managing Oracle backup and recovery solutions (RMAN). - Hands-on experience with user and security management within Oracle databases. - Experience in managing storage structures, including tablespaces and datafiles. - Excellent SQL and PL/SQL skills for database administration and scripting. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve database issues effectively. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills. - Ability to work independently and manage time effectively, especially during night shift hours. Bonus Skills (Strong Advantage) : - Experience with other database systems such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB. - Knowledge of Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) and Automatic Storage Management (ASM). - Experience with database migration tools and techniques. - Familiarity with cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure Database for Oracle). - Experience with scripting languages like Shell scripting or Python for automation tasks.
