Job Title : Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM) Specialist Experience Required : 5 Years Key Responsibilities : - Manage and maintain the health and stability of the Microsoft Identity Manager (or Forefront Identity Manager) environment. - Monitor the synchronization service, troubleshoot errors, and ensure data integrity between connected data sources. - Implement and manage MIM Service and Portal components. - Perform regular health checks and proactive maintenance tasks. - Design, develop, implement, and maintain custom Rules Extensions (MA Extensions and MV Extensions) using .NET (C#) to meet specific business requirements for identity synchronization and provisioning. - Analyze existing Rules Extensions, understand their functionality, and modify them as needed to accommodate evolving business rules and data transformations. - Ensure the performance and scalability of custom Rules Extensions. - Possess a detailed understanding of the MIM synchronization engine architecture and its core components. - Configure and manage various types of Connectors (e.g., Active Directory, LDAP, SQL, Web Services, Delimited Text File). - Define and manage Connector Filters, Join Rules, Projection Rules, and Attribute Flow Rules. - Understand and apply Connector Precedence rules effectively. - Design, configure, and troubleshoot Run Profiles for various synchronization tasks (Full Import, Full Synchronization, Delta Import, Delta Synchronization, Export). - Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of Active Directory (AD) concepts, including users, groups, organizational units (OUs), attributes, and permissions. - Configure and troubleshoot Active Directory Connectors within MIM. - Implement solutions for synchronizing identity data between MIM and Active Directory. - Understand and implement group management and role-based access control (RBAC) concepts within the context of MIM and AD. - Utilize .NET development skills with C# to understand, analyze, and modify existing MIM Rules Extension code. - Implement new functionalities and enhancements within Rules Extensions using C#. - Troubleshoot and debug .NET code within the MIM environment. - Develop and utilize PowerShell scripts for automating MIM administrative tasks, data extraction, and reporting. - Leverage PowerShell to interact with the MIM Service and Portal. - Troubleshoot issues using PowerShell cmdlets related to MIM. - Possess a good understanding of SQL Server, including the ability to write and execute queries for data analysis and troubleshooting. - Understand the underlying MIM database schema. - Develop and modify SQL queries used within MIM Connectors and Rules Extensions. Proactive Problem Solving and Adaptability : - Demonstrate assertiveness and a proactive approach to exploring and understanding the current MIM setup and its integrations. - Be curious and eager to learn the intricacies of the existing environment to effectively support and implement changes. - Possess strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify root causes of issues and implement effective solutions. - Be adaptable to changing requirements and the evolving identity management landscape. Documentation : - Create and maintain clear and concise technical documentation for MIM configurations, custom extensions, and operational procedures. Required Skills and Experience : - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. - More than 5 years of hands-on experience in implementing, configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM) or Forefront Identity Manager (FIM). - Proven ability to write and modify Rules Extensions (MA Extensions and MV Extensions) using .NET (C#). - Detailed and thorough knowledge of the functioning of the MIM synchronization engine, including different types of Connectors, Precedence rules, and Run Profiles. - Solid understanding of Active Directory (AD) architecture, objects, and attributes. - Proficiency in .NET development using C#, with the ability to understand and modify existing code. - Good working knowledge of PowerShell scripting for automation and administration. - Familiarity with SQL Server and the ability to write and execute SQL queries. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - A proactive and curious mindset with a strong desire to learn and improve.
