Employer Description Safari Lodge in the Free Sate Job Description Our client is looking for a dedicated Vegetation Team Manager to join their team. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the vegetation team to maintain and restore natural habitats Oversee and execute firebreaks, bush clearing, fence line maintenance and soil rehabilitation Operate, maintain, and oversee the safe use of equipment (chainsaws, brush cutters, etc.) Maintain roads, hiking trails and public access routes Coordinate weekly work schedules and supervise team tasks and performance Support animal care operations through vegetation control and environmental improvement Report on projects, staff needs, incidents and environmental conditions Support environmental education and conservation messaging through example and engagement Qualifications 3-5 years of proven professional experience (NON-NEGOTIABLE) Proven experience in land management, farming, forestry or environmental conservation Valid drivers license (Code B or higher) and willingness to operate 4x4s and tractors Skills Physically fit and comfortable with outdoor work in all weather conditions Strong leadership, communication and planning skills Hands-on approach with a solution-driven mindset Familiarity with health and safety regulations in outdoor or industrial work environments Passion for animal welfare and ecological sustainability Fluent in English; additional South African languages beneficial Benefits Pension Fund Medical Aid
