AS400 Administrator - DB2/HIPAA

AS400 Admin Key Responsibilities : - Administer, maintain, and support IBM iSeries (AS400) systems. - Monitor system performance, availability, and security. - Perform system backups, restores, and disaster recovery procedures. - Install and configure PTFs, operating system upgrades, and software updates. - Manage user profiles, roles, and permissions. - Perform system tuning and capacity planning. - Collaborate with application developers and support teams to troubleshoot issues. - Ensure compliance with security policies and audit requirements. - Create and maintain system documentation and operational procedures. - Automate routine tasks using CL, RPG, or scripting languages as needed. Required Qualifications: - Proven experience as an AS400/iSeries Administrator (typically 35 years). - In-depth knowledge of IBM i operating system and hardware. - Experience with BRMS (Backup, Recovery, and Media Services). - Proficiency in CL, RPG, or other relevant scripting languages. - Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. - Familiarity with high availability (HA) environments and disaster recovery solutions. - Understanding of ITIL processes and best practices is a plus. Preferred Qualifications: - IBM i certification(s) or equivalent experience. - Experience integrating AS400 with modern systems and technologies (e.g., APIs, databases). - Knowledge of DB2 on iSeries. - Experience with job scheduling tools (e.g., Robot, Control-M, or similar). - Knowledge of security standards and audit processes (e.g., SOX, HIPAA).
