COMMERCIAL MANAGER (FRUIT INDUSTRY)

RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and manage commercial strategies for both domestic and international markets. Identify and establish new sales channels for stone fruit. Build and maintain strong relationships with producers, customers, and key industry stakeholders. Ensure sustainable fruit supply to the packhouse through effective collaboration with growers. Analyse market data, pricing trends, and consumer behaviour to inform marketing and sales strategies. Negotiate contracts and secure profitable agreements for the company. Work closely with the finance team to compile budgets, forecasts, and performance reports. Provide regular reports to the executive team on sales performance, market developments, and opportunities. REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of 810 years experience in the fruit industry, with specific exposure to stone fruit. In-depth knowledge of both local and international fruit markets. Strong background in marketing and commercial management. Proven ability to conduct market research and analysis. Excellent financial and analytical skills. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills in both Afrikaans and English. Tertiary qualification in a commercial, marketing or equivalent field (e.g., BCom, or equivalent). Self-motivated, strategic thinker, and able to work independently. Valid drivers license and willingness to travel locally and abroad as needed. Experience with export logistics and international trade regulations. Existing relationships with clients and agents in the export industry. ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS (NOT MANDATORY): Experience in contract negotiation and risk management. Experience in the citrus industry. OFFERING: Competitive salary package with performance-based incentives.
