Job Description

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To execute procurement requirements relating to the purchasing of specialised goods and services, including renewals related projects requirements for the specific site. This includes managing the following: Issuing and coordinating tenders relating to sourcing of specialised goods and services Procuring goods and services for renewal projects for a specific site Assisting the Buying Co-ordinator in meeting end-user requirements for specialised goods and services JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Sourcing / buying the correct specialised goods and services for the site Keeping abreast with the industry sourcing trends and new products Negotiating price, and delivery schedules with company suppliers of specialised goods and services Facilitating risk assessments on potential sources of specialised goods and services Liaising with suppliers and end-users to negotiate the best prices and delivery schedules for specialised supply requirements Developing and maintaining a buying database to keep records of every specialised goods and service procured for the site Update the status of every purchase order placed by the different departments KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: Transactional Procurement Execute the procurement of specialised and complex goods and services Conduct expediting activities where required to manage suppliers' delivery on specialised goods and services, and renewals projects related buying Ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures End User Communication Assist End Users in complying with procurement policies and procedures when loading purchase requisitions Establish and maintain regular order-related communication with internal all stakeholders during the purchase order expediting process Manage and respond to end-user queries Explain company procurement policies and procedures to End Users Administration Assist the Buying Co-ordinator with any administration related to the procure-to-pay process Maintain order/delivery documentation to ensure an audit trail and keep procurement files up to date Interface with Core Supply should ongoing contract or supplier issues arise MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Relevant bachelors degree (Procurement Management/Logistics/Supply chain/Stores Management) At least 5 years experience in procurement and material management in a mining environment EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES: Clear knowledge of mining goods An above average knowledge of supply chains and products
