Job Description

Key Responsibilities: Managing the full bookkeeping process up to trial balance Administering trust and business accounts in line with legal accounting rules Preparing financial statements and management reports Handling creditors and debtors Reconciling bank accounts and trust accounts Processing payroll and submitting statutory returns (UIF, VAT, PAYE) Coordinating with auditors and other third parties Maintaining comprehensive and accurate financial records Minimum Requirements: 6 years of bookkeeping experience within a legal firm or the legal industry (non-negotiable) In-depth understanding of legal trust accounting regulations Ability to cope in a fast-paced, high-volume work setting Meticulous attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills Proficient in accounting systems such as Pastel, Xero, or similar software Relevant financial qualification (advantageous, but not essential) This opportunity is ideal for a dedicated professional with a solid legal bookkeeping background who is ready to hit the ground running in a reputable legal environment.
