Job Description
Job Title: Business Manager Location: KZN Midlands Position Type: Full-time Company Overview: Our client has the opportunity for a results-driven, hands-on Business Manager to support the business owner in overseeing and managing administration across their operational units. Key Responsibilities: Administrative Oversight: Manage daily operations across all business units to ensure smooth functioning. Financial Monitoring: Track, analyse, and allocate costs to business activities, focusing on cost accounting and financial performance. Reporting: Produce accurate daily, weekly, and monthly reports for management and ownership review. Budget Management: Assist in budget preparation, financial forecasting, and variance analysis. Policy Development: Create and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and ensure compliance with relevant legislation. Human Resource Support: Oversee personnel management, resource planning, and employee administration. Cross-Functional Coordination: Facilitate collaboration between departments and business units to optimise workflow. Strategic Input: Provide key support to the owner in decision-making processes and strategic planning. Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and manage employees, offering feedback and support to enhance team performance. Operational Efficiency: Identify and implement strategies to improve productivity and operational efficiency. Data Analysis: Conduct data analysis to support decision-making and enhance operational performance. Legal Compliance: Ensure adherence to legal regulations and guidelines across all business operations. Problem Solving: Address employee and business issues, resolving conflicts effectively. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving profitability and operational efficiencies. Supervision: Oversee clerical staff and other employees, ensuring effective performance. Financial Reporting: Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, collecting financial and operational data. Accounts Payable Management: Ensure accurate and timely production of purchase orders and vendor payments within allocated credit limits. Attention to Detail: Maintain exceptional attention to detail in all aspects of work. Communication Skills: Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent presentation abilities. Self-Learning: Demonstrate the ability to learn independently, apply ingenuity, and contribute to the organization’s financial success. Data Collection and Analysis: Research, track, and analyse relevant business data to inform decision-making. Candidate Profile: Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a similar management or business administration role. Financial Expertise: Strong background in financial management and cost accounting, with proven experience in generating actionable business insights. Organisational Skills: Excellent organizational and administrative skills, capable of multitasking and prioritizing across multiple businesses. Leadership: Proven leadership capabilities with the ability to engage and coordinate with diverse teams. Technical Proficiency: Proficient in MS Excel and business reporting tools; knowledge of Sage and payroll systems is a plus. Industry Experience: Experience in agriculture, forestry, or production-based environments is advantageous. Personal Attributes: A proactive, detail-oriented individual with high levels of integrity and initiative.
