Senior Cloud Data Engineer

My client is looking for Senior Cloud Data Engineer for a fully remote role in South Africa Requirements: · 6 years of extensive experience in data engineering · Degree in Computer Science or comparable cloud platform certification · Advanced expertise in Azure services: Synapse, Data Factory, ADLS, and related cloud-native tools · Strong experience in cloud-agnostic data technologies including Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, and Lakehouse architectures · Expert-level T-SQL and Python for complex data pipeline development, transformation, and optimization · Deep knowledge of big data processing, ETL/ELT pipelines, and orchestration · Strong data modelling and warehouse/lakehouse design capabilities · Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps (or equivalent), CI/CD pipelines, Git, and infrastructure-as-code for deployment automation · Excellent communication skillsboth verbal and writtenwith a strong ability to collaborate cross-functionally and simplify technical concepts · Ability to work independently while managing high-impact projects and maintaining a collaborative mindset · Bonus: Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes, Knowledge of data security, encryption, and compliance standards, Exposure to machine learning or AI-driven data engineering pipelines, AWS, GCP in addition to Azure.
