Embedded Audio Specialist - Hardware Abstraction Layer

Job Role : Embedded Audio Specialist Experience : 7 Years Location : Bangalore We are seeking a highly skilled Embedded Audio Specialist to join our team in Bangalore. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in embedded systems and audio technologies, particularly in ALSA, ADSP, Audio Routing, Tuning, and the Android Audio Framework. This role requires hands-on experience with HAL, Linux Kernel Drivers, AMS, MDF, SVA, TDM, and I2S, and involves working on complex audio subsystems to optimize performance and deliver high-quality audio processing and Develop, enhance, and maintain Audio & DSP solutions within Embedded Android/Linux environments. - Design and implement the Audio Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) and Linux Kernel Drivers to support audio subsystems. - Work with Android Audio Framework, focusing on ALSA, ADSP, Audio Routing, and Tuning to optimize audio systems. - Contribute to the development and enhancement of Audio Management Systems (AMS), Modular DSP Framework (MDF), and Sound and Voice Activation (SVA) features. - Work with TDM (Time-Division Multiplexing) and I2S (Inter-IC Sound) interfaces for efficient audio processing and signal routing. - Focus on low-latency audio processing to ensure real-time, high-quality audio experiences, while improving system performance and stability. - Troubleshoot and resolve audio-related issues to ensure seamless hardware and software integration. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal design and integration of audio solutions. - Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance and support to the Skills & Qualifications: - 7-8 years of hands-on experience in embedded Android/Linux audio development. - Expertise in ALSA, ADSP, Audio Routing, and Android Audio Framework. - Strong experience in designing and implementing HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer) and Linux Kernel Drivers for audio subsystems. - Proficiency in Audio Management Systems (AMS), Modular DSP Framework (MDF), Sound and Voice Activation (SVA), and Time-Division Multiplexing (TDM) protocols. - In-depth knowledge of I2S (Inter-IC Sound) interfaces and their application in audio systems. - Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills for embedded audio systems and low-level firmware. - Proficient in programming languages such as C, C++, and Java/Kotlin. - Experience in working with real-time audio systems and optimizing DSP Qualifications: - Prior experience with audio solutions in Automotive, IoT, or Consumer Electronics. - Familiarity with audio codec integration and tuning. - Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation for audio testing. - Knowledge of Bluetooth and wireless audio technologies. - Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively in a team (ref:hirist.tech)
