Senior Database Engineer - MS SQL

Job Description : - Advanced proficiency in T-SQL, including complex queries , stored procedures, triggers, Functions and experience with SQL Server tools (e.g., SSMS, Profiler, SSIS). - Solid experience with ADF ETL processes (SSIS) , data warehousing, and reporting services (SSRS). (preferably Azure cloud) / GCP - AWS - Hands-on Experience with performance tuning & query optimization techniques. - Proficiency in SQL, NoSQL, and NewSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra). - Shift Timings - 3 PM to 12 AM - Preferably candidates from Bangalore Location - (Hybrid Opportunity for Other Location) - 8 years of Individual Contributor Role - Notice Period - Immediate to 15 Days Time (Availability) - Excellent Communication Job Summary : Engineering Team- is looking for a Senior MS SQL Developer to lead our database development efforts, optimize SQL Server databases, and support data-driven projects across the organization. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server technologies, a strong focus on database performance and scalability, and the ability to design efficient data solutions that meet complex business requirements, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced : Database Management and Development : 1. Design and develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, views, and functions. 2. Create and optimize database schemas, tables, and indexes to improve data access and performance. 3. Develop and maintain Cloud ETL processes to support data integration and migration projects. (preferably Azure Cloud) 4. Perform data modelling, schema design, and indexing to enhance query performance. 5. Implement data security best practices and compliance with relevant standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA). 6. Oversee data backup, restoration, and recovery procedures. Performance Tuning and Optimization : - Monitor and troubleshoot database performance, identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions. - Optimize queries , indexing, and data storage to ensure efficient data retrieval and minimize response time. - Implement database tuning recommendations and review execution plans to maximize performance. - Use SQL Server Profiler, Execution Plans, and Index Tuning to troubleshoot slow-running queries and improve query performance. Cloud Technologies : - Design and manage cloud-based database systems (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL). - Collaborate with DevOps and IT teams to automate deployments and manage cloud environments. Data Quality and Integrity : - Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity through validation checks and error-handling mechanisms. - Develop and enforce data governance policies, data validation, and integrity checks. - Design and implement error handling, logging, and auditing for data processes. - Design scalable database structures and schemas to support high-volume transactions and data growth. Technical Leadership and Collaboration : - Mentor junior engineers and support cross-functional team members in database and front-end development best practices. - Conduct code reviews, enforce standards, and lead efforts to optimize database and application performance. - Collaborate with business analysts, application developers, and stakeholders to gather requirements and design solutions. Technical Skills : - Advanced proficiency in T-SQL, including complex queries, stored procedures, triggers, Functions and experience with SQL Server tools (e.g., SSMS, Profiler, SSIS). - Solid experience with ADS ETL processes, data warehousing, and reporting services (SSRS). (preferably Azure cloud) - Knowledge of performance tuning and query optimization techniques. - Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git) and Agile methodologies. - Experience with cloud databases (e.g., Azure SQL, AWS RDS ) is an advantage. - Proficiency in Python , Java, or similar languages. - Proficiency in SQL, NoSQL, and NewSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra). Requirements : Soft Skills : - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical details to non-technical stakeholders. - Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. Preferred Skills : - Experience with big data platforms and data warehousing solutions. Solid experience with ETL processes, data warehousing, - Knowledge of data visualization and reporting tools. - Microsoft SQL Server certifications, such as Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) in Data Management and Analytics, Azure Database Administration etc. - Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau). - Familiarity with NoSQL databases. - Certifications related to SQL or database management (e.g., Microsoft Certified : Azure Database Administrator Associate). - Familiarity with database automation and DevOps practices (e.g., CI/CD for databases). - Experience with Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, or similar cloud database technologies.
