MGS India has been set up as a Global Capability Centre / Centre of Excellence to provide support services across various functions such as IT, KYC/ AML, Credit, Operations etc. to MUFG Bank offices globally. MGS India has plans to significantly ramp-up its growth over the next 18-24 months while servicing MUFGs global network across Americas, EMEA and Asia Pacific About the Role: Position Title: Senior Middleware Engineer and Architect Corporate Title: Assistant Vice President Location: Bengaluru Job Profile Position details: The Senior Middleware Engineer and Architect is responsible for the advanced installation, configuration, maintenance, and architectural design of middleware solutions to ensure the smooth operation of business applications. This role involves leading projects, mentoring junior engineers, and working closely with application developers, system administrators, and other IT professionals to support and optimize middleware environments. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience and the ability to architect and design middleware solutions, including containerized environments using platforms like OpenShift. Roles and Responsibilities: Middleware Architecture and Design: Lead the installation, configuration, and maintenance of middleware software ( JBoss EAP and IBM WMQ) Support the design and implementation of middleware solutions using JBoss Application Server, MQ (e.g., IBM MQ, ActiveMQ), and other related technologies. Ensure that middleware systems are architected to meet business and technical requirements, including scalability, security, and disaster recovery. Design and implement advanced middleware architectures to support business applications and IT infrastructure. Evaluate and select middleware technologies and tools that align with organizational goals. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for middleware configurations, processes, and procedures. Architect and design middleware solutions to meet business requirements and improve system performance. Design and manage containerized middleware solutions using platforms like OpenShift. Knowledge on any of other products eg: Oracle WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, Apache Tomcat, IBM App Connect Enterprise (IBM Integration Bus), OpenShift and IIS will be added advantage Performance Tuning and Optimization: Monitor middleware performance and troubleshoot complex issues to ensure high availability and reliability. Conduct performance tuning and optimization of middleware environments. Lead and support performance tuning for JBoss application servers and MQ systems, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal throughput. Oversee performance monitoring and capacity planning to ensure that the middleware infrastructure meets growing business demands. Collaborate with the development teams to optimize middleware integration with application code, improving efficiency and reducing latency. Ensure high availability, disaster recovery (DR) capabilities, and business continuity for all middleware systems. Security and Compliance: Implement advanced security measures and ensure compliance with organizational policies. Review and enforce middleware security policies and standards to protect sensitive business data. Enforce best practices for middleware security and data integrity, including secure communication, encryption, authentication, and authorization. Ensure middleware solutions are compliant with internal policies and standards. Lead efforts for vulnerability assessments and remediation related to JBoss and MQ infrastructure. Support compliance and audits and ensure the integrity and security of all middleware environments. Lead incident response and disaster recovery initiatives, ensuring the middleware environment is robust and resilient. The role requires handling audit responses and addressing internal processes, not limited to Singapore and India. Middleware Administration and Support: Oversee the installation, administration, deployment, and maintenance of JBoss and MQ systems in both development, test, and production environments. Coordinate regular upgrades, patches, and migrations of JBoss and MQ versions, ensuring minimal disruption and compatibility with business systems. Lead incident management and troubleshooting for middleware-related issues, ensuring quick resolution of any service disruptions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including infrastructure, DevOps, and development, to ensure seamless integration of middleware technologies. Project Management: Lead middleware-related projects and initiatives, providing strategic direction and oversight. Collaborate with application developers to deploy and manage applications on middleware platforms. Lead and support cross-functional projects to deliver middleware-related initiatives on time, within scope, and within budget. Provide reports on middleware performance as needed. Innovation: Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in middleware technologies. Identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and cost reduction in middleware operations. Promote innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the middleware team. Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and innovations in middleware technologies, particularly JBoss and MQ, and recommend opportunities for improvement. Leadership and Mentorship: Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and training to junior middleware engineers. Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing. Job Requirements: Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Extensive experience as a Middleware Engineer and/or Architect. 10 years of experience in middleware technologies, with a focus on JBoss Application Server and Message Queuing (MQ) systems such as IBM WMQ, ActiveMQ, or similar platforms. Expert-level experience with JBoss, including installation, configuration, tuning, and troubleshooting. Extensive experience with Message Queue technologies (e.g., IBM MQ, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ) and integration with enterprise applications. Strong understanding of middleware security, including SSL/TLS, encryption, authentication, and authorization best practices. In-depth knowledge of middleware technologies and enterprise architecture principles. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift) for middleware deployment and management is added advantage. Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python) for automation. Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for automated middleware deployment and monitoring. Familiarity with operating systems, both Linux and Windows, and networking concepts. Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose complex issues related to performance, connectivity, and security. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Proven leadership and project management abilities. Ability to architect and design middleware solutions. This role operates in the Singapore Timezone.
