Director Project Development

Hyren is the new green hydrogen platform created by Matrix Renewables, a global renewable energy platform backed by TPG and its impact investing platform TPG Rise. With extensive experience in renewable energy and hydrogen sectors, Hyren aims to develop over 4,000 MW of projects in Spain, managing construction, operation, and development. Based in Madrid, the successful candidate will oversee Hyren's project portfolio, managing development teams, external developers, and partners. Responsibilities include ensuring projects meet milestones, budgets, and obtaining necessary permits to reach Ready to Build (RtB) status, leading to project closing. Key responsibilities include: Leading the Project Development team to achieve Hyren's targets. Managing project activities, sequencing, resources, and schedules. Tracking project development status and liaising with developers to ensure timely delivery to RtB. Ensuring projects meet financial and technical criteria, updating models, and coordinating with internal and external teams. Managing community relations and ESG implementation. Qualifications: Master's degree in Engineering, Law, or Business. At least 10 years in the energy sector, with 5 years in hydrogen. Full understanding of project development cycle for hydrogen and renewable energy projects. Budgeting and financial skills. Experience with developers, utilities, and service providers, with a strong network. Fluent in English and Spanish.
