Job Description

Quality Engineer My client who are leading suppliers specialising in the engineering design and manufacturing of products for manufacturing, oil and gas, power generation, defence industries to name a few Job Role Summary: To take an active role within the Quality Department, ensuring Project and Product Quality Requirements meet customer expectations and are compliant with relevant regulatory and contractual standards. Duties and Responsibilities: * Take a Lead role in customer and certification audits and flow down all contractual requirements. * Supplier Quality Assurance, Domestic and International (On site Document Reviews & Inspections to ensure product compliance) * Produce and Drive the Product Inspection & Test Plans (Control Plans) and Customer Quality Specifications and Commitments * Compile Documentation Packs and policing of Documents, Records, Certificates (Internal and Sub-Contracted) * Quality Report Writing and Reviews * Root Cause Analysis Investigations * Dimensional Inspection and Reporting * Non-Conformance Reporting Skills and Competency Requirements: * Forward thinking and initiative taking individual with a genuine desire to succeed and help move the business forward. * Possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral. * Have excellent analytical and critical thinking skills. * Experienced user of Inspection Equipment (e.g. - Internal & External Micrometers, Depth gauges, Vernier Callipers – ideally up to 1.5 Metre length measurements) * Excellent organisational, administrative and record keeping. * Meticulous attention to detail. * Ability to work to and achieve challenging deadlines. * Proficient in the use of MS Word and Excel. * Strong problem solving and decision-making skills. * Collaborator with the ability to influence at all levels, including third party organisations * UK National due to working on MOD contracts Experience and Knowledge Requirements: * Interpreting and Understanding Engineering Drawings * Producing Inspection and Test Plans (Control Plans) in line with Defence Contractor requirements. * A working knowledge of Welding, Paint Specifications & Fabrication Processes * Interpret and Apply National, EU, International, Company and Third Party / Client Codes, Standards and Processes * 3.1 Material Certification Verification * Knowledge and understanding of calibration methods for mechanical tooling. * Use of company IT systems * Previous experience of working in a manufacturing environment * Corrective and Preventative Action Techniques Desirable: Knowledge of Defence Contracts and Environment ISO9001 Certified Auditor Ability to read and understand PFMEA A working knowledge of Electric Motors and Generators Education / Qualification Requirements: BTEC Level 3 in an Engineering discipline Technique-Recruitment Solutions Ltd is a proud equal opportunities employer, dedicated and specialist to the engineering and manufacturing industries.
