About the Role : We are seeking a QA Engineer to join our dynamic team to ensure the quality of our applications. The ideal candidate will have experience in API testing, test automation, and knowledge of CI/CD pipelines. You will play an integral role in ensuring our software is functional, reliable, and of the highest quality. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and other teams in an Agile/Scrum environment to ensure the delivery of high-quality Responsibilities : - Perform manual and automated API testing using tools like Postman, SoapUI, or any other relevant testing tools. - Validate RESTful web services, JSON, and XML responses to ensure they meet business requirements. - Write and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate API functionality, security, and performance. - Work with developers to understand API specifications and ensure that APIs are tested thoroughly for edge cases, error handling, and data validation. - Develop and maintain automated test scripts using tools like Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or other relevant automation frameworks. - Enhance the test automation framework to cover new features and increase test coverage across different layers of the application. - Automate repetitive test cases for continuous integration and deployment cycles. - Execute automated test scripts and review results to ensure that they meet the required standards. - Conduct performance testing using tools like JMeter to assess application scalability, reliability, and performance under different loads. - Analyze performance bottlenecks and work with development teams to resolve any issues that arise. - Generate performance reports and provide actionable insights for optimization. - Collaborate with development teams to integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipelines. - Ensure that tests are executed automatically during build and deployment cycles, reducing manual intervention. - Monitor test results in the pipeline and communicate defects found during automated test execution. - Work with the DevOps team to enhance the testing processes within the pipeline for seamless deployments. - Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. - Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other team members to define testable user stories and acceptance criteria. - Continuously improve test coverage and quality within an Agile framework by working closely with all team members. - Log and track defects in bug tracking systems (e.g., JIRA, Trello), provide detailed reproduction steps, and monitor defect resolution. - Work with development teams to ensure timely defect resolution and ensure that defects do not compromise the release schedule. - Perform regression testing to ensure that new code changes do not affect existing functionalities. - Create detailed, high-quality test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test results. - Prepare and present clear and concise test summary reports to stakeholders, highlighting the quality of the product and areas of improvement. - Ensure all testing activities are documented accurately and stored for future Skills & Qualifications : - 3 years of experience as a QA Engineer with a focus on API testing, automation, and performance testing. - Hands-on experience with API testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI, or equivalent. - Familiarity with performance testing tools like JMeter to test application performance, load, and scalability. - Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines and version control tools like Git (including GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket). - Strong experience with automated testing frameworks such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar tools. - Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment. - Knowledge of RESTful APIs, Web Services, and data formats like JSON and XML. - Strong debugging and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes of issues. - Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team. - Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment (ref:hirist.tech)
