Job Title: M&E Quantity SurveyorLocation: Cambridge (Office-Based with Site Visits)Salary: Up to £60,000 (Depending on Experience)Sectors: Commercial, Healthcare (Hospitals), Education (Schools)Project Values: Up to £10 millionReporting to: Senior Quantity SurveyorCompany Overview:Our client is a respected and growing M&E contractor delivering complex building services packages across the East of England. With projects ranging from state-of-the-art hospitals to educational facilities and commercial developments, they pride themselves on quality delivery and long-term client relationships. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an M&E Quantity Surveyor to join their Cambridge office.Role Overview:This role is ideal for an ambitious M&E Quantity Surveyor looking to progress their career under the guidance of a Senior QS. You will be involved in the full commercial lifecycle across a range of projects up to £10 million, with a strong focus on mechanical services (including ventilation, air conditioning, heating, and plumbing) and electrical systems (including lighting, power distribution, and life safety systems).Key Responsibilities:*Manage cost planning and control across both mechanical and electrical work packages*Prepare, review, and negotiate subcontractor packages including labour and materials*Support with valuations, variations, and final accounts*Collaborate with the Senior QS to ensure accurate monthly reporting and CVRs*Contribute to tender submissions and procurement planning*Ensure change management procedures are followed on live projects*Build and maintain strong relationships with site teams, suppliers, and clients*Ensure compliance with contractual and commercial frameworks (NEC/JCT)Requirements:*Experience in an M&E Quantity Surveying role (contractor-side preferred)*Strong understanding of mechanical services (HVAC, plumbing, heating) and electrical systems*Familiarity with NEC or JCT forms of contract*Excellent communication and negotiation skills*Proactive, organised, and commercially aware*Full UK driving licenceBenefits:*Salary up to £60,000 (based on experience)*Clear progression path under Senior Quantity Surveyor mentorship*Exposure to a diverse portfolio of technically challenging projects*Supportive team culture with long-term development opportunities LI-PB1
