Job Description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced and forward-thinking Private Client Solicitor to take on a senior leadership role as Head of Department within a well-established and expanding law firm in St Albans. This is a fantastic opportunity for a STEP-qualified Private Client solicitor to build and lead a growing team in a highly strategic and client-facing position. The firm has a long-standing presence in the local community and is now investing significantly in its Private Client services, offering the ideal platform for a senior legal professional to make a lasting impact. This is an ideal opportunity for a seasoned Private Client Solicitor ready to step into a high-impact leadership role with real autonomy and progression potential. The Role Lead and develop a new Private Client department with autonomy and vision. Manage a varied caseload including Wills, Probate, Estate Administration, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, and Court of Protection matters. Provide guidance and supervision to junior staff, paralegals, and support team members. Deliver exceptional client care and maintain high professional standards. Drive the growth of the department through strategic planning and business development. Be considered for LLP membership or partnership as part of future career progression. The Person 10 years' PQE as a qualified solicitor in Private Client law. STEP qualification (or working towards it). A strong track record in managing complex matters across the full private client spectrum. Demonstrable leadership experience or ambition to lead a team. Excellent communication, client relationship, and mentorship skills. A commercially-minded and proactive approach to building a practice. Benefits to you Salary: £80,000 - £100,000 depending on experience. Bonus structure linked to performance and departmental growth.
