Job Description

Payroll Specialist Location - Northampton Salary: £32,000 to £36,000 – Hybrid -Full time, flexible working., plus many attractive benefits, Our client is a growing top 40 accountancy practice who provide expert solutions for entrepreneurial businesses and private individuals They have several offices in Central and Southern England and have ambitious plans to expand their business. To support the organisation’s growth, they have created a new opportunity for a Payroll Specialist to join their Northampton team. This is a permanent full-time role with hybrid and flexible working options. Job Requirements – Payroll Specialist: * Ideally CIPP qualified with 3-5 years UK payroll experience. * Experience within an accountancy/bureau environment is highly desirable. * Familiar with payroll systems such as Sage, Xero etc * Strong IT skills and able to pick up new software packages very quickly. * Highly organised, able to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously. * Able to prioritise workload effectively and work in a flexible manner. * High attention to detail and accuracy. * Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. * Enjoys a fast-paced work environment. * A self-starter with a with a high level of resilience. * Demonstrates a strong team spirit but also very effective working independently. * A positive “can do” attitude with a strong desire to learn and develop. Job Responsibilities – Payroll Specialist: Your key responsibilities will include: * Provide payroll services to portfolio of clients varying in size and complexity * Process payrolls on a weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly basis (or as directed) * Process starters and leavers, calculating statutory payments, RTI submissions, pension deductions etc. * Set up PAYE scheme with HMRC and cease schemes when needed * Act as primary contact with HMRC for all PAYE related matters * Calculating auto enrolment pension deductions and ensuring compliance * Uploading pension contributions and starters to appropriate pension portals * BACS files submission * Submit HMRC RTI information, FPS and EPS ensuring deadlines are met * Preparation of P45s, P60s, Starter Declarations and other relevant forms as required * Liaise directly with clients to ensure accuracy of payroll data and answer phone queries, resolve problems and provide payroll support * Communicate with clients, other staff, Directors and the HM Revenue & Customs * Support clients in the day to day running of payroll systems * Support and assist other members of the team Job Benefits – Payroll Specialist: Hybrid working after successful completion of your probationary period (three days in the office and two days at home) Flexible working (flexing your hours around the core working hours of 10am to 4pm) Joining a fast-growing company with exciting growth plans ahead Plenty of opportunity to increase your technical knowledge and skills A varied role within a talented and experienced team Keywords – Payroll, Sage, Xero, CIPP, PAYE Payroll Specialist
