Software Engineer

Key Accountabilities The role holder will design, develop & unit test IBM Planning and Analytics (PA) software solutions. Provide data-driven insights to support business decision-making Work across multiple software engineering platforms, frameworks & tools to deliver innovative solutions. Provide expert input into systems analysis to optimise development effort and ensure performance of the platform meets SLAs Challenge requirements where necessary to ensure the best, appropriate applications are used / produced Peer review changes to IBM Planning and Analytics ensuring they are compliant with governance, have undergone adequate testing and that any system / process documentation used by BAU has been updated Coordinate technical stakeholders (solution architects, security architects, infrastructure, service management) to shape maintainable, high-performing, reliable, secure & cost-effective solutions. Continually improve products, solutions, tools & processes. Keep track of technical debt & identify & leverage opportunities to reduce it. Manage system security and user permissions Key Competencies/level Experience working in finance and accounting Extensive experience with IBM Planning and Analytics solutions (Min. 2 years) Deep understanding of PA architecture and design principles Proficiency in PA Perspectives, Architect, Workspace, and TI processes Excellent communication and collaboration skills Knowledge of financial planning functions Experience with OLAP data cubes , rules and feeders Familiarity with PAX and PAW tools Desirable Skills: Experience working with Windows and Linux OS Experience upgrading IBM Planning and analytics software VBA coding experience
