Legal & Compliance Counsel

A reputable financial services client of ours is seeking for a knowledgeable and proactive Legal & Compliance Counsel with strong sanctions knowledge to be a part of their team. In this role, you will be providing expert legal advice on economic sanctions and embargo laws across their regional operations. You will play a key role in helping the company navigate complex regulatory environments while supporting responsible growth and risk management. Responsibilities You will advise on international sanctions law while supporting internal investigations and regulatory inquiries related to sanctions compliance. Review and approve transactions, clients, and counterparties from a sanctions perspective. Partner with Compliance, Risk, operations, and Business teams on sanctions-related matters. Monitor legal and regulatory developments and assess their impact on the business. Develop and deliver training and awareness programs for sanctions compliance. Help design and enhance policies, procedures, and controls related to sanctions. What we are looking for Common law qualified with at least 8 years PQE, preferably in financial services or related field. Deep understanding of global sanctions frameworks. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal issues clearly. Practical, business-minded, and solutions-oriented approach. J-18808-Ljbffr
