Lead Network Engineer - Routing & Switching

Job Description : As the Lead Network Engineer, you will be the subject matter expert for our network infrastructure. You will be responsible for the day-to-day health of our network, as well as the strategic planning and implementation of network upgrades and enhancements. Your deep understanding of routing and switching principles, coupled with your ability to diagnose complex network issues and design resilient solutions, will be essential to ensuring the seamless operation of our business. Responsibilities : - Maintain the current network configuration and infrastructure, ensuring stability and optimal performance. - Identify areas for improvement within the existing network and implement enhancements to boost efficiency and reliability. - Proactively monitor network performance and capacity, anticipating future needs. - Design a revamped network infrastructure with a focus on maximizing network performance, scalability, and security. - Develop detailed network diagrams, configurations, and implementation plans. - Oversee the deployment and configuration of new network hardware and software. - Provide expert-level troubleshooting and configuration support for network-related issues across Linux and Windows environments. - Utilize strong technical skills in IP networking to diagnose and resolve complex network problems. - Demonstrate mastery of IPv4 and IPv6 routing basics. - Expert-level knowledge and hands-on experience with IGP routing protocols, specifically OSPF and EIGRP. - In-depth understanding and practical application of BGP, including advanced BGP concepts. - Proficient in BGP peering and path manipulation techniques. - Solid understanding of High Availability protocols such as HSRP and VRRP. - Expertise in route redistribution and filtering mechanisms. - Comprehensive knowledge of Multicast protocols (PIM, IGMP, MSDP, MBGP). - Very good understanding of network redundancy and failover scenarios. - Ability to confidently answer real-world scenario-based questions related to Multicast, Routing, and Switching. - Extensive hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus platform switches. - Proven ability to read and analyze packet captures using tools like Wireshark. - Strong practical knowledge of general Routing and Switching infrastructure. - Significant hands-on experience in Datacenter network environments. - Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures. - Work effectively with other IT teams and vendors to ensure seamless integration and resolution of network-related issues. - Implement and maintain network security best practices. Key Skills : - Deep understanding and practical experience in Layer 3 networking principles and protocols. - Mastery of IPv4/IPv6, OSPF, EIGRP, and advanced BGP. - Proven ability to configure and troubleshoot BGP peering and manipulate BGP paths. - Solid understanding of HSRP/VRRP and other redundancy mechanisms. - Expertise in configuring and managing route redistribution and filtering. - Comprehensive knowledge of PIM, IGMP, MSDP, and MBGP. - Very good understanding of designing and implementing resilient network architectures. - Ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical network scenarios and troubleshoot effectively. - Extensive hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus switches. - Proficient in reading and interpreting packet captures. - Strong practical knowledge of general routing and switching concepts and configurations.
