Senior Data Platform Architect - Amazon Redshift

Location : Remote. Experience Level : 7 years. Job Summary : We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Platform Architect with strong expertise in Amazon Redshift to lead the design and implementation of robust data architectures. The ideal candidate will bring a solid background in data warehousing, performance tuning, and workload management, combined with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Key Responsibilities : - Design and architect scalable and efficient data platform solutions using Amazon Redshift (both Serverless and Provisioned). - Define and implement workload isolation strategies, optimizing for performance and cost. - Lead technical design sessions and provide strategic direction throughout implementation phases. - Tune performance via RPU sizing, concurrency scaling, and resource management best practices. - Develop solutions involving Redshift Data Sharing and cross-cluster access patterns. - Collaborate with BI/reporting teams, ideally with MicroStrategy, to support analytical and dashboarding requirements. - Produce high-quality technical documentation and communicate architecture decisions clearly to stakeholders. Required Skills & Experience : - Proven experience designing and implementing modern data platform architectures. - Expertise in Amazon Redshift, including Serverless and Provisioned modes. - Strong knowledge of performance tuning and workload management in Redshift. - Understanding of data sharing across clusters and access control strategies. - Background in BI/reporting environments; MicroStrategy experience is a strong plus. - Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills. - Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Preferred Qualifications : - AWS certification in Big Data or Data Analytics. - Experience in broader AWS data services (e.g, Glue, S3, Athena). - Knowledge of data governance and security best practices.
