Job Description

SCREEN SPE Germany GmbH is the European subsidiary of SCREEN Semiconductor Solutions Co., Ltd. in Kyoto/Japan. Within the Advanced R&D (ARD) division based in Europe, we are looking for talented R&D process simulation engineers to join the multidisciplinary Process Modeling and Simulation team in charge of developing leading edge simulation technologies for fundamental understanding and improvement of wet cleaning and photoresist coating/developing. R&D Process Simulation Engineer (m/f/d) (Hybrid position, based preferably in Belgium/Leuven, also possible next to one of our offices in Germany/Dresden, Italy/Vimercate or France/St Ismier) Support development and industrialization of the simulation models developed by the R&D experts for existing and future processes for wafer wet cleaning and photoresist coating/developing Run parametric simulations based on R&D models provided by team experts for fundamental understanding as well as development and optimization of SCREEN processes Recommend model validation experiments and use results of such experiments to validate and improve models Work collaboratively in cross-functional R&D and engineering teams. Build and maintain partnerships with vendors and external organizations (academic and industrial) related to process modeling and simulation Develop modeling and simulation expertise across a wide range of disciplines relating to SCREEN processes, including acting as a liaison between business partners and external experts/partners Engage with the broader R&D organization and help proliferate modeling and simulation tools and expertise through training and demonstration of value with use cases Possibly generate IP (publications and patents) and present research at international trade shows and scientific conferences Bachelor, Master, or Ph.D. in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or a related field 3 years of hands-on experience using multiphysics models and simulations Strong foundation in multiphysics (chemical engineering, electrostatic, electromagnetic, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, etc.) and strong analytical skills Experience in structuring large sets of multi-parametric simulation data efficiently for analysis and re-use Modeling expertise in at least one of the following: Atomistic/Molecular modeling experience (Density Functional Theory, Molecular Dynamics) using e.g. Quantum Espresso, GPAW, ASE, LAMMPS. Computational Fluid Dynamics experience, using OpenFOAM Finite element analysis using e.g. COMSOL in multiple coupled physics Adaptability to new modeling techniques and frameworks Experience with high performance computing (HPC), data visualization and analysis tools Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently and cross-functionally Detail orientation and excellent adherence to scientific method As a plus: familiarity with reduced order modeling to facilitate multiscale and multiphysics simulations familiarity with Deep Learning and Machine Learning techniques applied to modeling and simulation Programming or scripting experience (e.g. C++, Python, R, Julia, shell…) We offer an exciting opportunity for you as a member of the SCREEN family help shape our organization to ensure for current and future success.
