Job Description
Our client are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Manager to lead their financial operations and support strategic decision-making during a 12-month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the finance function, including financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow management. You will play a key role in delivering timely and accurate financial reporting, analysis, and insights that support business decision-making, ensuring effective financial control and performance across the organization. This position can pay between £50,000 - £60,000 pro rata per annum, and has a hybrid working scenario of 4 days in the office and 1 day from home. Key Responsibilities: Ensure accurate and timely accruals, prepayments, and journal postings. Reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure all entries are supported and accurate, including intercompany transactions. Reconcile bank accounts on a regular basis. Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow reports. Perform variance analysis and provide commentary to explain financial performance. Support the budgeting and forecasting process in collaboration with department heads. Oversee financial operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and debt control. Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and analysis. Process global payrolls for our EMEA, US, and APAC offices, including ensuring accurate commission calculations. Assist external accountants with VAT return submission. Requirements: Professional accounting qualification is preferred or in progress. Proven experience (typically 5 years) in a finance role, with at least 2 years in a managerial position. Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of financial regulations and standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP). Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite). Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders. Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
