Service Care Legal are currently recruiting on behalf of a London Borough Council in South West London for a dedicated Legal Assistant to join their legal services team on an ongoing contract basis. The role would focus upon residential conveyancing transactions. Job Title: Legal Assistant – Residential Conveyancing Location: South West London (London Borough Council) Contract: 3 month with possibility of extension, 35 hours per week Rate: £18.00 to £20.00ph LTD DOE and interview performance(£18.04ph PAYE inc., £16.10ph PAYE exc.) Please note that this role would require office attendance 2 days per week. Key Responsibilities: Support the legal team in managing residential conveyancing matters through to completion. Handle a variety of residential transactions and assist with complex local authority land matters. Prepare and review legal documentation, conduct research, liaise with internal departments and external parties, and ensure the timely progression of files. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, procedures, and council protocols. Essential Requirements: A law-related qualification (LPC / LLM / LLB) would be essential for this role. Proven experience in residential conveyancing, ideally within a local authority setting. Demonstrable ability to manage a busy caseload and work under pressure to tight deadlines.
