Job Description

Location: Cardiff, Wales (with flexible working options) Steele Charles are delighted to have been retained exclusively on this, a project with this, one of the most highly respected renewables operations. Our client is building a robust, future-proof electricity network to deliver 100% renewable energy across Wales. They’re looking for a Power System Engineer to support network modelling, manage power system studies, and ensure regulatory compliance, particularly with NESO and other stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Lead network design from concept to delivery, including fault analysis and compliance updates. Maintain the power system model and ensure alignment with grid code requirements. Conduct steady-state and dynamic studies for customer connections and system planning. Collaborate cross-functionally and engage with DNOs, TOs, NESO, and Ofgem. Drive continuous improvement and report on modelling outcomes to senior leadership. About You: Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience). Proven experience in power system modelling and regulatory environments. Familiarity with generator/network asset modelling and NESO engagement. Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities. Benefits: Hybrid/flexitime working with ‘no meeting’ Fridays. 28 days holiday bank holidays.
