Finance Manager

What are we recruiting for? We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Manager to oversee the financial operations of a growing group of companies. Working closely with the Directors, you will manage all core finance functions, ensure regulatory compliance, and support strategic financial planning and reporting. This is a pivotal role in a well-established, growing business with a friendly and collaborative team environment. What will you be doing? * Preparing and analysing monthly management accounts across multiple companies * Managing bank reconciliations and posting all relevant entries in Sage for five companies * Reconciling balance sheets, including intercompany transactions * Preparing and submitting VAT returns for five companies * Managing and reconciling staff expense claims * Maintaining and updating company asset registers * Preparing and posting accounting journals * Supporting payroll processes and ensuring Pension Auto-Enrolment compliance for three companies * Liaising with HMRC, Companies House, and the Office for National Statistics * Generating ad hoc and regular financial reports for management * Improving and maintaining internal financial systems and procedures * Using Sage and Excel effectively for all financial operations * Assisting in the management of company-owned properties * Providing flexible and secretarial support to Directors and senior management for ad hoc requests * Covering during staff holidays and supporting general office operations What skills are we looking for? * ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified or part-qualified (minimum AAT Level 4 or equivalent) * Strong working knowledge of Sage (or similar accounting systems) and Excel * Experience with multi-company and intercompany accounting * Proven ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and manage competing priorities * Highly organised, proactive, and process-oriented What’s on offer? * 33 days’ holiday, including bank holidays * Free on-site parking * Long-term career development opportunities within a supportive, family-oriented business * Employee discount Location Stafford (Onsite): Monday – Friday
