Job Description
Structural Engineer – Level 2 Location: UK (Must have the right to work in the UK) Reports To: Technical Director Type: onsite (adhoc initally more work to increase over time) We are seeking a skilled and motivated Structural Engineer to join our growing Structural Engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified engineer with a strong background in structural inspections and design to work on technically challenging projects, including high-rise buildings and large-scale commercial developments across the UK. Role Purpose: You will be responsible for carrying out structural inspections and design audits on both new builds and existing structures. The role involves technical assessment of structural elements, report writing, and close collaboration with the Technical Director and other engineering professionals. You must be able to demonstrate solid technical competence in steel, concrete, and masonry structural design, working in accordance with both British Standards and Eurocodes. Key Responsibilities: Conduct design audits and risk appraisals of structural building elements. Perform technical and quality inspections of new construction and existing buildings. Contribute to structural assessments of superstructures and substructures. Write detailed technical reports and inspection findings. Attend project and design team meetings as required. Support project organisation and timely delivery. Liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams. Stay current with industry developments and engineering standards. Undertake travel as needed for site-based inspections. Required Qualifications & Experience: Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. 3 years experinace. Member (or working towards membership) of ICE or IStructE. Proven experience in civil and structural engineering. Previous work involving high-rise building projects is essential. Strong communication and technical writing skills. Thorough understanding of relevant design codes (British Standards and Eurocodes). Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
