Cloud Security Engineer

Role & responsibilities : Job Summary : We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Security Operations Engineer to join our team. This role requires excellent communication skills and a basic technical understanding of cloud platform security and cloud security tools. The ideal candidate will monitor our cloud environment and work closely with the Cyber Security team and various cloud project teams to ensure security of the environment. Additionally, they will look for opportunities to enhance the cloud security while ensuring the business functionality of the platform. Key Responsibilities : - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement system updates and enhancements. - Document processes, procedures, and technical specifications around cloud security - Provide support to end-users and respond to inquiries related to Cloud security. - Participate in on-call support rotation as needed. Qualifications : - Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience) preferred - Basic understanding of coding practices, operating systems, networking, cloud technologies and security. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Familiarity with security tools and best practices - Experience with GCP, Azure or AWS - Knowledge of MITR, CIS benchmarks, NIST and ISO standards etc. Preferred Skills : - Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) is a plus. - Basic understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines. - Knowledge of various compliance standards - Familiarity with IaC/Terraform Technical Skills - Cloud Platforms : AWS, Azure, Google Cloud - Security Tools : [e.g., AWS GuardDuty, Azure Security Center, Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM)] - Programming Languages : Python, Bash, [other relevant languages] - Compliance Standards : GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS - Security Frameworks : NIST, CIS, ISO 27001 - Networking : VPN, Firewalls, Load Balancers - Monitoring & Logging : CloudTrail, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor (ref:hirist.tech)
