R&D Project Manager

Join to apply for the R&D Project Manager role at Hitachi Energy The opportunity Develop or create products, systems, services, or technologies for Hitachi Energy's Business Units by leading and managing the execution of one or more complex R&D projects to meet project targets. Coordinate work of multi-location and cross-functional project team/s. Lead in partnership with business managers, steering groups, product management, and external parties to ensure value creation. You will contribute significantly to successful results in R&D projects globally allocated. You will support the team to meet objectives in Research & Development projects for our Transformer Business Unit in Monselice (PD), reporting to the R&D/Technology Center Manager. Your responsibilities Lead and manage projects, coordinating multi-location and cross-functional teams, motivating and monitoring resources to accomplish tasks and milestones. Manage project scope, schedule, cost, and performance objectives within a program, ensuring interdependencies are managed to realize benefits and developing business cases. Ensure understanding of customer value, manage expectations, and incorporate internal and external requirements. Follow sound methodology and practices in accordance with internal directives and external standards, monitor and control activities, and report to the steering committee. Manage change requests, risks, and unforeseen events, capturing opportunities for improvement. Act as the key contact for stakeholders, providing timely and effective communication. Coordinate activities with product and business management, develop and expand stakeholder relationships, and explore partnerships. Uphold Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity. Your background Master’s degree in Engineering (preferably electrical, mechanical, materials, aerospace, or computational science). Over 1-2 years of project management experience, preferably in R&D or related fields. Experience with transformers or product development is desirable. Knowledge of project management tools and gate model methodology is a plus. Strong commitment to safety, self-motivation, problem-solving, and communication skills. Experience working in international teams with excellent interpersonal skills. Willingness to lead international R&D projects and relocate temporarily if needed. Fluent in spoken and written English.
