Job Description

Join us as a Sustainability Project Manager at Hitachi Energy We are seeking a dedicated Sustainability Project Manager to oversee sustainability initiatives within the Transformers Business Unit of Hitachi Energy. This role involves driving the execution of sustainability projects, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and supporting initiatives such as life cycle assessments (LCA), carbon footprint reduction, and circular economy strategies. The successful candidate will collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, supply chain, operations, and regulatory teams to embed sustainability into product development and manufacturing processes. How You’ll Make an Impact Manage sustainability R&D projects from initiation to completion, aligning with corporate environmental goals and industry best practices. Support the development of strategies for reducing carbon footprints, improving material efficiency, and conserving energy. Conduct comparative assessments of products and processes to identify sustainability improvements. Ensure adherence to global and regional environmental regulations. Oversee collection and management of sustainability data, maintaining accuracy and consistency. Collaborate on Life Cycle Assessments (LCA), Environmental Product Declarations (EPD), and carbon footprint analyses. Create technical reports, presentations, and dashboards on sustainability performance for stakeholders. Work cross-functionally with engineering, supply chain, operations, and sustainability teams to promote sustainability integration. Your Background Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field. Proven experience managing sustainability projects, preferably in transformers, electrical equipment, or heavy manufacturing industries. Ability to manage cross-functional projects and engage stakeholders effectively. Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting environmental impact data. Excellent communication skills, fluent in English, with experience working across technical and non-technical teams. Experience working with remote, multi-cultural teams.
