Power BI Developer - Power Query M

Key Responsibilities : - Develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards, leveraging strong skills in DAX, Power Query (M Language), and report-level calculations. - Lead and contribute to Cognos to Power BI migration projects, ensuring seamless transition of reports and dashboards. - Understand and implement IBM Cognos reporting structures, effectively translating these to Power BI reports and models. - Design and build semantic models and reusable datasets in Power BI to support robust data visualizations. - Apply dimensional modeling principles to create optimized data models that ensure efficient querying and reporting. - Optimize Power BI dashboards and datasets for performance, scalability, and usability, ensuring end-user satisfaction. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather reporting requirements and translate them into actionable insights. - Communicate effectively with stakeholders, managing expectations and delivering high-quality reporting Skills : - Strong expertise in DAX, Power Query (M Language), and Power BI report-level calculations. - Proven experience in Cognos to Power BI migration projects. - Solid understanding of IBM Cognos reporting structures and concepts. - Strong knowledge of data warehousing principles and dimensional modeling. - Proven experience in designing and building semantic models and reusable datasets in Power BI. - Ability to optimize dashboards and datasets for performance and usability. - Strong communication skills and ability to engage with stakeholders across business to Have : - Familiarity with other BI tools or platforms. - Understanding of cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS. - Experience with SQL Server or other relational databases.
