Job Title: Independent Retail Pharmacist Profession: Pharmacy Specialty: Pharmacist Duration: 13 months Shift: M-F Hours per Shift: 9am-6pm Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Licensed to practice pharmacy Certifications: Current BLS Certification Must-Have: - Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. from an accredited college of Pharmacy - Maintains continuing education hours relevant to the practice of pharmacy - Ability to collaborate effectively with others at all levels within the organization - Above-average interpersonal, problem-solving, and written and oral communication skills Description: We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Independent Retail Pharmacist to join our community-focused pharmacy team. As an Independent Retail Pharmacist, you will play a pivotal role in providing personalized healthcare services and patient-centered care. You will build strong relationships with customers, ensure the safe and effective use of medications, and contribute to the overall well-being of the community. You will be responsible for all areas of retail pharmaceutical services, including procurement, distribution, storage, and administration of drugs by appropriate staff. The role is critical in providing patient-focused care, fostering community trust, and supporting the health and well-being of the local population. This position emphasizes a personalized, customer-oriented approach to pharmacy services. Position Qualifications: The pharmacist must demonstrate professional behavior both on duty and as a representative of the community pharmacy outside normal work hours. You should have organizational ability and time management skills. You will produce deliverable products on time and within budget with minimal direction. Compiling and organizing data using Microsoft Office Applications is required. Maintaining organized records for all functions performed is essential. Communication with directors, managers, and coworkers should be appropriate and clear. Performing all assigned tasks accurately, including proper spelling and grammar, reference materials, and minimal mathematical calculations, is essential. You must maintain confidentiality regarding payroll, personnel information, and other confidential information obtained during the course of job duties. You will answer phone calls, assist the public, and forward inquiries appropriately in a professional and friendly manner. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary. Position Responsibilities: You will compound and dispense prescribed medications, drugs, and other pharmaceuticals for patient care. Reviewing prescriptions issued by authorized prescribers for accuracy is required. You will direct pharmacy workers engaged in mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals. Answering questions and providing information to pharmacy customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage is necessary if counseling is offered. You will actively engage patients and clients regarding customer service and program integrations offered by the pharmacy. Maintaining established procedures concerning quality assurance and security of controlled substances is essential. Data entry regarding patient names, prescribed medications, and costs to maintain pharmacy files is required. Instructing interns and other pharmacy personnel and maintaining appropriate pharmacist to technician and pharmacist to intern ratios is necessary. You must maintain awareness of third-party Rx systems and promptly resolve any rejection problems. Reporting prescription errors immediately and adhering to company policy regarding medication incidents is critical. Developing and maintaining a good working relationship with physicians and other healthcare professionals is essential for customer support. You should pursue training and development opportunities and keep abreast of changes in laws and regulations through ongoing education and reviewing literature. Managing difficult customer situations, responding promptly to customer needs, and soliciting feedback for improvement is vital while maintaining confidentiality. Physical Requirements: You should be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, walk, and move intermittently during working hours. The ability to lift 25 lbs is required
