Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 06/09/2025 Duration: 5 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Title: Registered Nurse - Step Down Unit Location: Vineland, NJ Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Time Type: Nights (12-hour shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM) Unit Description: Join our dynamic Step Down Unit, where you will provide specialized care for patients requiring trach care, bariatric support, nocturnal ventilation, and stroke care. Our nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5 for Step Down/PCU and 1:6 when floated to acute care. The unit is divided into specialized areas: MSD for PD patients, CSD for stroke patients, and SSD for surgical patients. This position requires flexibility to float within the specialty and to the Elmer Facility as needed. Major Responsibilities: Deliver professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process to meet the needs of patients and their families. Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary team through clear communication and coordination. Adhere to all policies, procedures, nursing standards of practice, and regulatory requirements. Experience and Requirements: Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is required. Contract Length: 6-13 weeks. Specialty: Experience in Step Down, MS/TELE is a plus. Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend. Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday. RTO: No more than 3 days. License: Valid NJ nursing license or compact license. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (AHA only). Scrub Color: Navy. Charting System: Cerner. Physical Requirements: Lifting Lifting 20-50 lbs: Frequently Lifting >50 lbs: Occasionally Standing: Frequently Sitting: Frequently Walking: Frequently Carrying: Frequently Hearing: Constantly Talking: Constantly Vision: Constantly Call off: Client may cancel (call-off) up to one (1) shift per two week period without paying for the cancelled hours. First day instructions(FDI): FDI are emailed directly by the hospital. Please expect 3 emails on the Friday before Monday start date. Please be sure to look in the junk folder as well – emails are sent usually around 2:00 pm on Friday. Monday is a virtual day - Teams call starts around 8:30 - 9 am. Invite/link sent via email. After the Teams meeting, continue the day with 'at your pace' modules sent by the facility. Badge appointment is emailed by the facility to issue the badge and review policy/procedures. The ID badge is very important to obtain prior to Orientation Shift. This is how you will clock in and out – so you can be paid accurately. Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday – orientation classes are scheduled ONSITE 1-4 hours long in early afternoon and details are sent after Monday meeting is completed. These are MUST attend and cannot be rescheduled or missed- you will take the end of class assignment which is required to schedule the orientation shift. Orientation shift - Fri/Sat/Sun shift which will be at the time of the shift hired for and schedule will be made available after Tue/Wed/Thur orientation classes have been completed. The POCT class is scheduled for the 2nd or 3rd week of the assignment. Please share your POCT class date with us once received and remember to attend. You must be available for the full 7 days of the first week for Orientation. No special scheduling is permitted for orientation.
