Backend Developer - Java Technologies

Job Description : We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Backend Developer with a strong focus on Scala and Java, and a keen interest in Rust (nice to have). The ideal candidate will be proficient in developing robust and scalable backend systems, with a solid understanding of modern technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, Node.js, and React. This role involves designing and implementing database queries, working with Google Cloud, Akka, and the Play framework, and optionally utilizing the Asana ticket system. Responsibilities : - Design, develop, and maintain backend systems with a primary focus on Scala and Java. - Develop and implement efficient and scalable database queries. - Utilize Kubernetes and Docker for containerization and orchestration. - Integrate with frontend applications built using Node.js and React. - Work with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for cloud-based solutions. - Develop applications using Akka and the Play framework. - Optionally, utilize Rust for specific backend components (nice to have). - Design and implement database schemas and queries. - Optimize database performance. - Develop and deploy applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). - Integrate cloud services into backend systems. - Collaborate with frontend developers, designers, and other stakeholders. - Communicate effectively with team members and project managers. - Optionally, utilize the Asana ticket system for project management and task tracking. - Create and maintain technical documentation for backend systems and APIs. - Ensure code is well-documented and maintainable. Qualifications : - 5 years of professional experience as a backend developer. - Very strong knowledge of Scala and Java. - Experience with Rust (nice to have). - Proficiency in developing database queries. - Experience with Kubernetes and Docker. - Familiarity with Node.js and React. - Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP). - Knowledge of Akka and the Play framework. - Quick comprehension and independent way of working. - Excellent problem-solving skills. - Strong communication skills. - Fluent in English. - Experience working in an agency environment is an advantage. - Familiarity with the Asana ticket system.
