Creant Technologies - Liferay Backend Developer - OSGI Framework

About the Role : We are seeking an experienced Liferay Backend Developer to join our growing technology team in Mumbai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust backend components and services using Liferay DXP/Portal. You will work closely with front-end developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing enterprise Responsibilities : - Design, develop, and maintain backend components of Liferay DXP/Portal applications. - Develop custom portlets, hooks, and service wrappers using Liferay frameworks (MVC, Service Builder, OSGi). - Work on integration of Liferay with external systems (REST APIs, third-party services, databases). - Configure and implement Liferays user management, permissions, roles, workflows, and content management features. - Develop and deploy custom services and modules using Java, Spring Framework, and Hibernate in the Liferay ecosystem. - Optimize application performance and troubleshoot issues across multiple environments. - Collaborate with DevOps teams for CI/CD, deployment, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes). - Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architectural decisions. - Maintain documentation for all customizations, configurations, and Skills Required : - Liferay Versions : Strong hands-on experience in Liferay DXP 7.x, including module development, service builder, and OSGi framework. - Programming Languages : Java, JSP, Servlets, JavaScript (basic understanding for integration), XML, JSON. Frameworks/Technologies : - Liferay MVC, OSGi, Spring Boot - RESTful APIs, SOAP Web Services - Hibernate, JPA - Databases : MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle including query tuning and DB integration. - Tools/Platforms : Maven, Gradle, Git, Jenkins, SonarQube. - Servers : Apache Tomcat, JBoss, or any Liferay-supported Skills : - Liferay permissions, roles, and workflow customization - Asset Publisher, Web Content Management (WCM) in Liferay - Knowledge of Liferay Marketplace and plugin Skills (Nice to Have) : - Experience with headless Liferay, Single Page Applications (SPAs), or React/Vue.js front-end integration. - Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). - Experience in performance tuning, load balancing, and high-availability : - Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. - 57 years of proven experience in backend development with at least 3 years specifically in Liferay DXP. - Liferay Certification is a Skills : - Strong problem-solving and debugging skills. - Excellent written and verbal communication. - Ability to work in an Agile environment. - Self-motivated and eager to learn new technologies.
