Linux Administrator

Job Description : We are looking for a skilled Linux Administrator to join our team in Pune. As a Linux Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our Linux server environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. Key Responsibilities : - Linux Server Management : Administer and maintain Linux-based servers, ensuring smooth operation and minimal downtime. - System Monitoring & Optimization : Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize the performance of the Linux infrastructure. - Security Management : Implement and manage security policies and tools, including firewalls, SELinux, and user access controls. - Backup & Recovery : Manage regular backups, disaster recovery, and data restoration processes to ensure business continuity. - Patch Management : Apply patches and updates to maintain the security and stability of the system. - Automation & Scripting : Automate repetitive tasks using shell scripting (Bash, Perl, Python, etc.) and configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef). - System Troubleshooting : Diagnose and resolve system issues, including hardware failures, performance bottlenecks, and network issues. - Log Management : Manage system logs, monitor for anomalies, and implement log aggregation and analysis. - Collaboration : Work closely with other teams (DevOps, development, networking) to deploy applications and support infrastructure. - Documentation : Maintain clear and concise documentation for all server configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps. Required Skills & Qualifications : Experience : 3-5 years of hands-on experience in Linux system administration, preferably with Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, or other Linux distributions. - Linux OS Expertise : In-depth knowledge of Linux file systems, networking, shell scripting, and system processes. - System Performance & Tuning : Strong experience in tuning Linux systems for optimal performance and resource utilization. - Security Management : Solid experience in managing system security, firewalls, and user access controls (iptables, SELinux, etc.). - Scripting : Proficiency in scripting languages (Bash, Python, Perl) to automate administrative tasks. - Monitoring Tools : Familiarity with monitoring tools like Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, or similar for system performance tracking. - Backup Solutions : Experience with backup and disaster recovery tools (e.g., rsync, Bacula, etc.). - Cloud Experience : Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus. - Problem-Solving : Strong troubleshooting skills to resolve issues quickly and efficiently. - Communication : Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. - Education : A degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field is preferred.
