Backend Engineer - Java/Python

Role Overview : We are seeking a skilled and passionate Software Engineer with a strong focus on backend development to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the server-side logic and databases that power our applications and services. You will play a crucial role in building scalable, reliable, and efficient backend systems that support our growing user base and business : - Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable backend applications and APIs. - Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code in the primary backend technologies used by the company (e.g. , Java, Python, Node.js, Go, Ruby, C# - please specify if there's a primary language). - Collaborate effectively with frontend developers, mobile developers, and other team members to integrate backend services. - Design and implement database schemas and optimize database performance (experience with both relational and NoSQL databases is often a plus). - Develop and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure code quality and reliability. - Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards. - Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring the stability and performance of backend systems. - Contribute to architectural discussions and provide input on technical design decisions. - Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in backend technologies and best practices. - Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance. - Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment processes. - Ensure the security and data integrity of backend systems. Skills Required : Must-Have Skills : - Strong proficiency in at least one major backend programming language (e.g. , Java, Python, Node.js, Go, Ruby, C# - please specify if there's a primary language). - Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms. - Experience with building and consuming RESTful APIs. - Experience with relational databases (e.g. , MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server) and writing efficient SQL queries. - Familiarity with version control systems (e.g. , Git). - Understanding of software development methodologies (e.g. , Agile, Scrum). - Good problem-solving and analytical skills. - Basic understanding of testing principles and experience with unit testing. Should-Have Skills : - Experience with specific backend frameworks relevant to the primary language (e.g. , Spring/SpringBoot for Java, Django/Flask for Python, Express.js for Node.js, Gin/Echo for Go, Ruby on Rails for Ruby, ASP.NET Core for C#). - Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g. , MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis). - Knowledge of microservices architecture and building distributed systems. - Experience with containerization technologies (e.g. , Docker, Kubernetes). - Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g. , AWS, Azure, GCP) and their backend services. - Experience with message queues (e.g. , Kafka, RabbitMQ). - Knowledge of caching mechanisms (e.g. , Redis, Memcached). - Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g. , Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps). - Understanding of security best practices for backend development. - Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g. , Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
