Data Center Technician

Job Description Job Description TEKsystems is seeking a Data Center Technician to join their team in Goodyear, AZ! RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Scope: · Respond to service tickets for servers in customer datacenters in a timely manner · Keep parts lockers up to date and properly stocked at all times · Troubleshoot and triage server failures to determine the most efficient path to getting a server back online for the customer · Track server fleet health and validate that we are always exceeding customer requirements for total servers online · Provide consistent, detailed feedback to the engineering team on failures, serviceability of servers, and integration with the datacenter · Apply firmware and BIOS updates as needed using engineering-approved tools · Comply with all datacenter safety, security, and operational protocols at all times KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge and skills: · Ability to identify hardware failures and work within the limits of a defined process to get hardware running or replace entire servers · Ability to regularly lift and move server systems that weigh up to 70lbs · Fanatic attention to detail. Accuracy in inventory, trouble tickets, asset tag updates, wiring plans, etc. is essential to the customer and is critical to this role · Must be able and willing to travel · Linux terminal basic experience · Windows CMD basic experience.
